1 - Cut your first slice about two inches from the edge, cutting right the way down to the board.
2 - Lay the slice down on a chopping board or plate and cut it into long rectangular pieces. If you want smaller portions cut across the middle to divide them in half.
3 - Cut the next slice to the same thickness and repeat the process.
TIP - Using a very sharp knife is best! If the cake is cold heating up a knife in boiling water will make it easier to slice.

Cakes are best kept in a cool environment out of direct sunlight.
If you are picking up a cake the day before your event it is best to refrigerate your cake overnight and also prior to travel. This will help the cake stay in its best condition.
Cakes are best eaten at room temperature so I recommend removing them from the fridge 1-2 hours prior to eating.
Please take note of the outside temperature/humidity - in warmer weather keep refrigerated as long as possible before serving/displaying.

The best way to transport a cake is on a flat surface in a cool environment. If you are collecting a cake in the warmer months, prep the car by turning on the aircon prior to collection. This will ensure the cake has a nice cool travel environment. If you don't have someone around to hold the cake steady in the car the best place is on the floor on the passenger side - this is generally the flattest surface. If you are travelling long distances a chilly bin is ideal and a non-slip mat of some sort to avoid the box sliding around.
